A LITTLE JOY TODAY
Wildflowers at Mt Rainier 2007
Today is my son’s birthday. His 31st on this earth. I could write a long post about what I am missing and what I want to be different right now. I am not going to do that, I am going to focus on what I love right now. There is plenty, I just need to stop and let my mind wander about what is good in my world right now!
What are some things you are loving today? I want to see all the wonderful and good things coming out of this time of isolation and quarantine.
Here is my list:
Getting out in the sun for my breaks away from working
Seeing the wildlife in the yard daily
Good coffee, I am a self-admitted coffee hoarder
Working from home
Clear skies, less smog
Walking around the neighborhood
Waving at people in the neighborhood that I have never seen before
Seeing all the dogs that I never knew lived near me
Getting outside within 5 minutes after work is over
Binging on shows and not feeling guilty
Giving myself a break on doing all the things I said I would do if I were home
Digging in the freezer to find treats, so far pumpkin roll from Thanksgiving and cheesecake bars from Christmas that still taste awesome
Not wearing a bra for a few days in a row
Getting creative with the food we have at home.
Doing Zoom calls with the grandkids, I promise to not take my time with the kids and grandkids for granted …ever
Wearing sweat pants to work
The sun
Sleeping in and getting a little extra sleep
My co-worker is my wife and we have lunch together sometimes
Quiet surroundings and hearing the birds sing and the neighborhood kids playing
Musicians on Facebook and Instagram entertaining us
Licorice
Chocolate
The mail and our mailman
I would love to hear what is bringing you joy today. There is plenty.
Thanks for reading, be well friends!
