First blog post

I started writing as therapy for myself. Most of the time my head is like the old video game Pong, just back and forth getting faster and faster, until I can get it out on paper.

Writing has made life easier. I have written things for years, but had never let anyone read them. I didn’t consider it would ever be good enough. Until I went to a retreat, met a writer and I let her read some. She has encouraged me to make it public, hence the blog. I hope that some of it will resonate with you.

I am an adoptee and in the last year have been working on how all the ways this has had an effect on me. I have always known I was adopted but this year I have just been working my way out of the fog, as they say.

I have one son, three stepchildren and five grand kids. I am married, my wife and I have been together for 20 years (she should get an award for being with an adoptee that long!) All of this and so much more makes me who I am. I am just starting to figure that out.
